"Caring and Commitment in Action"

Dream Dress
Assistance League Fresno began serving the needs of teen foster girls in the area in 2012 with the Dream Dress program.

Today, Dream Dress provides free formal attire to foster girls, homeless and girls in need who wouldn't otherwise attend prom, graduation or other school functions that require dressy attire. Girls are able to come into the "Dream Dress Boutique", located at 4777 N. Blackstone Avenue and enjoy a shopping day to remember in our Paris themed boutique. Girls will choose from a selection of over 1,200 new or gently used short and long formal dresses, shoes, jewelry and evening bags.

Girls are referred to the program through the Fresno County Department of Social Services, area non-profit foster care agencies and Fresno Unified School District's Project Access. We are also accepting referrals from Central, Clovis and Sanger Unified Schools. The boutique is open on select evenings and Saturdays and by appointment only.

Dresses are collected at the Assistance League Thrift Boutique (next door) and are donated by members of the community. Assistance League members, Assisteens® members and through partnerships with other organizations such as Heald College, Northpointe Community Church and The Little Black Dress to name a few. The program accepts gently used or new formal wear to replenish stock throughout the year.

It is Assistance League Fresno's goal to outfit as many girls in need in the community as possible throughout the school year. Since the program's inception, over 320 girls in our community have received formal attire through Dream Dress. We are thrilled to be able to offer this service and look forward to increasing our numbers of girls in the coming year.
